Macallan Leadership Team

Jim has had a long career in media, public relations and public affairs. Beginning as a broadcast journalist upon graduation from Penn State and transitioning to a government affairs consultant Jim has experienced state and national issues from the outside and inside. Sensing a market change in niche media publishing, Jim started Macallan hoping to the fill the void left by traditional publishers who failed to adapt to a changing environment. “Macallan’ s publications are a response to a need for information at the reader’s discretion. We are there 24-7 and not just after the press run.”

Jim lives in Center City Philadelphia surrounded by museums and restaurants.

Scott McPherson is a Founding Partner of Macallan Communications. Scott has almost 40 years of public relations and communications experience. Originally from Chicago, Scott has spent his career working for, and/or consulting with, dozens of corporations and trade associations. He and his wife and their dog currently reside in Wisconsin. Scott holds a Master’s Degree in Communication from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from St. Cloud State University.

A lifelong ice hockey player, Scott also enjoys fishing and golf.

James brings 20 years of corporate, government and non-profit experience to Macallan Communications. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, James overseas day-to-day business operations, client management and business development. He began his career in broadcast media, then moved to Washington D.C.  where he worked in the United States House of Representatives.

A Cleveland, Ohio native, James graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.  James resides in Chicago with his wife and three children.
